  1. Can I set up MatchMiner at my institution?
    • Yes, MatchMiner is open source and you can set it up at your institution. Matchminer is HIPAA compliant when hosted behind an institutional firewall. Additional information, including instructions to set up a demo instance, are available in our Gitbook.
  2. What are the data requirements to set up MatchMiner at my institution?
  3. What are the software requirements to set up MatchMiner at my institution?
    • A small instance of MatchMiner can be run locally on a laptop using 4 CPUs and 4GB of memory. A larger instance (e.g. similar to what is currently run at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute [DFCI]) with ~60,000 clinical samples, ~400 trials, ~600 filters, and ~500 users would use 45 CPU cores and 128 GB of memory.
  4. What are the personnel requirements to set up MatchMiner at my institution?
    • For trial curation, at least 2 scientists are suggested for curating and reviewing CTML documents. For software implementation, at least 1 software engineer is required to set up MatchMiner, including development of data ingestion pipelines and integration with institutional systems (e.g. authentication) as needed.

  7. How can trial eligibility be curated into CTML?
  8. Who are the main users of MatchMiner?
    • Clinicians, clinical research staff, and trial investigators can use MatchMiner to identify trial matches.
  9. What is the clinical impact of MatchMiner at DFCI?
    • In January 2022, with ~170 open precision medicine trials at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), patients matched to 6 trials on average and 84% of patients had at least one trial match. As of January 2022, 220+ patients have enrolled onto clinical trials as a result of MatchMiner.
  10. Can DFCI clinical trial CTMLs be shared with my institution/company?
    • No, CTMLs are not available for sharing at this time.
  11. Can DFCI patient data be shared with my institution/company?
    • Deidentified genomic data and limited clinical data can be accessed through AACR Project GENIE. No other patient data is available for sharing at this time.
